Following a long stay in multiple hospital environments, Carolyn developed pneumonia in one lung, and then a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) in the other. Her poor body was unable to continue the fight, and she succumbed to her illnesses on Sunday, February 26, 2012. It has been noted that many of Carol's life events occurred on the 26th of a month; perhaps she held onto life until this date in order to cling to that tradition. Whatever the case, her time on this earth was too short, and we will all miss her dearly until we can see her once again in Heaven.
