Carol suffered a second stroke (her first being a minor stroke, years before) and was in the hospital and then rehabilitation for many weeks. Thankfully, despite the severity of this occurrence, Carolyn was able to regain most of the abilities that she had previously possessed; she came back home to her family and loved being "Gram" every single day.
